The pleasures of Angel Island

Gene Beley writes:

“Hey, great article on the man who spent time on Angel Island. That is one of the most underrated tourist attractions in California, I think.  I enjoyed doing an article on it for Boat U.S. (500,000 circulation) and visited there several times for research on that article.

“You can check out my in-depth article.”
I agree: Angel Island is a gem. In addition to the Immigration Station musem I wrote about, there’s hiking, biking, and weekend concerts. On the ferry I ran into a couple women cyclists who loved the place so much they said they had visited 20 times. The ferry that goes there most frequently leaves from Tiburon, worth seeing for its bayside urban perfection.
