A streetcar comeback?

Alan Kandel rsponds to a column about Stockton streetcars:
“I’ve been keeping my finger on the streetcar development pulse.
“As for the data to support the downtown revival/streetcar connection, I located “RAIL Magazine’s Priorities from the Mountain West” commentary, item #5 in particular.
“Moreover, RAIL magazine’s current issue #34 deals almost exclusively with streetcars and is organized into four sections: planning, funding, constructing, operating.
“And finally, the July 2014 TRAINS magazine  covers streetcars. In fact, it’s the cover story with cover wording reading: “Modern Streetcars take back US cities.” This is the first time I can ever remember seeing a streetcar on a TRAINS magazine cover. With all this interest, there must be something to them. I am glad to see them making such a strong comeback.”
