They sue each other, too

South Valley ag is notorious for its political machinations and litigation to export ever more Delta water. But the south Valley is not homogenous. There are factions down there, and the litigious guys sue each other, too.

The east side farmers — the Friant Water Users Authority — sued the west side farmers and, of course, the gul-danged government which puts fish over people — to stop westsiders from getting water to which they are legally entitled.

A judge just refused to grant them a temporary restraining order to halt the flow of water from Friant Dam.

My favorite line in this small story: “In rejecting the bid for a temporary restraining order, the court said the water allocation is a result of the way Congress wrote laws, not government regulators prioritizing fish and wildlife above farmers and the economy.”

They’re still riding that ‘fish-over-people horse. It is becoming my litmus test to see which California water exporters and conservatives reject legal and environmental reality in favor of a Fox News perversion of California’s water picture.
