The state of Central California: it could work!

Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper has proposed dividing California into six states (map here). Signatures are being gathered to put this nonstarter on the ballot in November.

Stockton would be part of what appears to be the largest state, “Central California.” The borders of Central California are the San Joaquin Valley.

Which means the Delta would be lumped in with the Westlands and the other water hogs who seek to destroy it. Not a wonderful basis for a successful state.

However, perhaps there are conditions under which a state of Central California could work.

—Stockton is the capital.

—The water hogs have to play nice, or they become a seventh state, the state of Really Thirsty.

—The other states are donor states contributing to the treasury of Central California or they can try eating silicon chips.

—A food-for-free passes deal with whatever state has Disneyland.
