Gov. Jerry Brown lashed out at California’s south-Valley congressmen for their power play to grab water by running roughshod over environmental laws.
“It would override state laws and protections, and mandate that certain water interests come out ahead of others,” Brown huffed in a letter to House leaders. “It falsely suggests the promise of water relief when that is simply not possible given the scarcity of water supplies.”
We deeply empathize with the governor’s sense that higher powers are contriving to suspend evironmental and water regulations in order to create a special class of water recipient. So very unjust, isn’t it, governor?
