Pedicab operator calls it quits

Stockton’s pedicab operator is putting the brakes on her busness, Pacific Pedicabs.

“Pacific Pedicabs hasn’t found enough patronage over the past two years to cover the annual insurance premium $2,000 for two pedicabs,” writes Elizabeth Wong Fontana, “and the expenses of trailering, or storage in the Downtown.”

“I will be using my pedicabs for private & family activities (parades) until I save enough to license one in Sacramento,” Fontana said.

Too bad. Fontana’s pedicab added color and fun to the streets. Especially when she decorated the pedicab seasonally.
