Victory Park turkey shuffles off its mortal coil

Jay Rivera writes:

The Victory Park (and environs) Turkey died today. I saw an announcement about it on the Stockton American Legion Park Neighborhood Watch Facebook Page. Member Sherri Fisher wrote, “Well, sad to report… Nancy and I were doing our walk around Victory Park and Ms. Lurkey, our turkey, was lying on the grass, near the sidewalk on Argonne and Pershing, dead. I called to have her removed and the woman from the city knew her and expressed her sadness.”

Lurkey leaves no known family but many fond admirers. As well as many pedestrians who had to hit the brakes when the crazy bird sauntered heedlessly out onto busy Pershing Avenue. Services will be conducted by the pound.
