The California Republican Party has asked GOP strategist Karl Rove to be keynote speaker for its annual convention, in Sacramento this March. Suggesting Republicans have learned nothing.
Rove’s divide-and-conquer strategy — he used wedge issues such as gay marriage to help get George W. Bush elected president – is now a historical relic. Young people aren’t inspired by bigotry.
As head of American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, Rove squandered millions of dollars backing Romney and other GOP candidates across the county. He got virtually nothing for the money he blew.
He even disgraced himself on election night by barging onscreen when Fox anchors called the election for Obama and said it wasn’t true.
So who bettter to help California Republicans regain political relevance? Forward into the past!
