The evil of Cardinal Mahony

Documents discovered in a new lawsuit against the Catholic Church paint the starkest picture yet of how Cardinal Roger Mahony, the former bishop of Stockton, covered for molester priests.

According to the L.A. Times, “In the confidential letters, filed this month as evidence in a civil court case, Curry (Diocese counsel) proposed strategies to prevent police from investigating three priests who had admitted to church officials that they abused young boys. Curry suggested to Mahony that they prevent them from seeing therapists who might alert authorities and that they give the priests out-of-state assignments to avoid criminal investigators.”

The smoking gun. Mahony covered up for molester-monster Oliver O’Grady in Stockton, enabling O’Grady to destroy uncounted lives. For which he was promoted to bishop of L.A. He continued to be an accomplice to evil down there and the Vatican made him a cardinal. Mahony has suffered public ridicule, loss of moral authority and empty pews. He deserves prison.
