Two Stockton legislators

My favorite piece of contemprary political arcana is redistricting. Go ahead, yawn. Indifference to districting chicanery allowed gerrymandering to cast an evil spell on San Joaquin for a decade, one that polically enfeebled Stockton and the county. Redistricting allowed Stockton politicians to gain office.

So it does the heart good to see state Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) and Assemblymember Susan Eggman (D-Stockton) taking office. They are organic Stockton leaders and, equally important, representing Stockton, the biggest city in their districts, is their primary job. Better state representation is in our future.

D-Stockton, R-Stockton, when it’s got that “–Stockton” after, Stockton has a voice in the capitol.
