Sayonara, Land Hotel

Demoltion of the Land Hotel has started. The hotel fronts on California Street, but all the action is out back, visible from American Street.

The Land is the red brick building recessed in the center.

A crew wielding a giant Cat digger clawed down a one-story attached back-building (the rubble slightly visible in the center left of the recess).  As of noon Tuesday, the main structure still stood. But word is it’ll be gone by Friday.
