McNerney brings home the bacon

Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Stockton) announced that the San Joaquin Regional Transit District will receive $7,958,725 in Uncle Sam bucks from the Department of Transportation.

The grant will pay for a Fuel and Bus Wash Facility, which includes structures for the fueling, inspection, and washing of buses.  Also brake and tire repair.  “This construction will greatly improve RTD’s ability to efficiently maintain and expand operations,” the congressman’s office said in a press release.

Tax dollars for transportation is a swise investment with a broad public beefit. Plus, the grant will help to create an estimated 143 new jobs.

I am pro-pork. And so is my Porkometer. Look! He’s smiling!
