Still seeking special privileges

It’s dismaying how Sen. Dianne Feinstein tries to contrive special privileges for The Westlands and other south-Valley farmers. Now she’s trying to secure a guaranteed 45 percent water delivery floor.

In dry years, the Westlands and others water exporter don’t get their full allottment of water because –w ell, because it’s a dry year. There’s less water, in part because Westlands farmers have chosen to farm is a semi-arid region. And they have junior water rights; they stand at the back of the line.

But the very essence of the Westlands is their perennial desire to upend the legal system and crowd to the front by political means.

Feinstein should not enable this. And we should remember when she attempts to rob Peter to Pay Paul that we’re Peter.
