New Delta boat cruise opens

Delta Discovery Cruises launched its inaugural voyage Tuesday night from the Stockton marina, ferrying 70 or so local yokels up the channel and back in a two-story, 70-foot boat called Island Girl V.

DDC will run excursions and private parties several days a week. Some will be upscale, some will be river-rat-scale, like the Tuesday night float to Taco Tuesday at Windmill Cove, featuring a complement of Yeager girls and the like. And some will be private, like a combination bacherlor/bacherlorette wingding a couple plans to throw soon.

The Island Girl boasts two spacious decks, couches and booths, a dance floor and a full bar with bartender. The ride is smooth. The company is operating a boat out of Pittsburg already.

“We had an oppoutunity to jump on it and we did,” co-owner Heather Ingram said of the boat. “We’re going to let people know what the Delta is.”

The trip was fun. More info here.
