A Stockton man named Andrew Squire has created a website called stonerdollars.com. One-quarter of every dollar you donate to him goes to pay for college in San Diego. The other 75 cents will go to marijuana reform groups.

On not being mauled by Cougars
“We were trying to avoid losing money,” City Manager Gordon Palmer said of the new deal with the California Cougars indoor soccer team.
Good idea. Not having read the contract yet, I can’t say how well Palmer represented the city’s interests. But he is quoted in yesterday’s story as saying that the new deal charges the [...]

Here you go, Louise:
Interesting sidenote about Cunningham’s Castle: The old brickheap lasted well into the 20th century, until a Bay Area reporter got [...]

Behind the scenes of ADA lawsuits
I have come into possession of an e-mail sent by a Stockton resident to Roger Robinson, the wheelchair-bound man who has sued 25 local establishements for violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Most recently Robinson sued Chuck’s Hamburgers, but he backed off his demands for punitive damages and negotiated a reasonable settlement after I exposed [...]
