Volunteer, support Honor Guard

American Legion Karl Ross Post 16 is seeking volunteers to join its Honor Guard that serves at funerals to ensure that veterans from the greater Stockton area receive their “Final Salute” for their honorable service.  ”The Final Salute rendered by the Honor Guard is a reverent and solemn service to bid farewell to our departed comrade. Too often a veteran is not given a Final Salute because the family wasn’t aware that such a service existed or has been earned,” according to a statement from the post. To volunteer or learn more, contact Henry Adame at (209) 242-3326 or henry.yoli@yahoo.com. Members of the Honor Guard are all volunteers. The ammunition they purchase comes from funds earned through contributions from families of the fallen, post members, Honor Guard members and community supporters. Contributions can be mailed to Henry Adame, American Legion Karl Ross Post 16, 2020 Plymouth Road, Stockton, CA 95205, Attention: Honor Guard Fund.
