During the day and early evening, head to Ernie’s General Store, 4407 E. Waterloo Road just east of Highway 99. Owner Ernie Giannecchini has lowered his cash price for regular to $3.59 a gallon because, as he says, he just wants to make people feel better. After 10 p.m., the best deal is across town at the 76 station, 2701 W. March Lane just west of Interstate 5, where regular will set you back $3.49 a gallon through 4 a.m.
