On the Stagg budget forum, electives, SLCs and Success For All
The turnout at Stagg last night was much better than that at Franklin the night before. I’d guess about 60 people were in the Stagg auditorium at one time or another and it lasted about 90 minutes, as opposed to 40 minutes the night before at Franklin.

Between now and April, students at numerous schools around San Joaquin County will be selling raffle tickets at $5 a pop. The grand prize, to [...]
A busy week begins
Stockton Unified and Lincoln Unified both have meetings this week, SUSD on Tuesday, LUSD on Wednesday.
SUSD’s meeting will be a budget study session. The district is looking at cutting at least $20.1 million from its 2010-11 budget and may learn in January of midyear cuts, too. Click here to view the Stockton Unified agenda.

The great pumpkin caper
You know, the morning after a spirit-darkening SUSD board meeting, it’s nice sometimes to go somewhere and see kids learning and having fun. This morning, the Adopt-A-School program visited Pam Delgado’s fourth-grade class at Hazelton Elementary in south Stockton. Workers from S-MART came bearing pumpkins. The students learned about some pumpkin trivia and then got [...]
