SUSD Live – Out of closed session

Trustees just came out of closed session. Trustee David Midura announced a 4-3 vote to contact a candidate and offer the interim superintendent job. Yes votes were from Gloria Allen, David Varela, David Midura, and Colleen Keenan. No votes by Kathy Garcia, Sal Ramirez and Steve Smith. They didn’t say which candidate they’d be approaching.

SUSD Live – Into closed session

Nobody here to comment before SUSD trustees went into closed session. Trustees will discuss the interim superintendent situation further, and they will also talk about labor negotiations. I’m hanging out. If they report out of the closed session, I’ll let you know.

SUSD Live – Bonds

I’ll need to get some more explanation, but it appears SUSD will look to float a bond measure on the November ballot – in the $100 million range – to pay for technology upgrades throughout the district.

SUSD Live – Pay raises

Trustees approved a 1.565 percent pay raise for management and other unrepresented groups. It also approved a 3.5 percent raise for classified workers.

Only SPPA Pres Bonnie Dixon and new teachers union president John Steiner spoke. Dixon expressed anger that her group could only negotiate at 1.565 percent pay raise while classified workers are up for a 3.5 percent raise.
