Trustees approved buying 10, 385 Chromebook computers. The computers run Google’s Chrome operating system, relying heavily on the Internet for all of its programs and without much hard drive space at all.
They are inexpensive – $250 each – and can be used with all of Google services and are fully Internet accessible. They have been popular for new Common Core testing as well.
The money to pay for them comes from Title I funds – $3.4 million.
