Edison High Principal Brian Biedermann introduced sophomore Sienna Meli-Magana.
She is a volleyball and basketball player who is in AVID.
Meli-Magana said she did not know what to expect when she started at Edison, but felt very welcomed right away. The staff, she said, is motivating and trustworthy.
She talked about AVID. She said the classes are helpful to stay organized and has helped her stay motivated to go to college.
Meli-Magana said she was proud of the STEM building being noted in the State of the Union address, and that is helping the students overcome the perception the school is “ghetto” because it’s in south Stockton.
Then she blew a kiss to her parents.
