SUSD trustees to have special meeting Tuesday

Stockton Unified Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Agenda items include layoffs of three high school teachers, a high school counselor and two preschool teachers under the “elimination of particular kinds of service” code.

The board will also vote on spending $1,500 to send Trustee Gloria Allen to attend the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators Conference on March 12-14.

Trustees will also be asked to hire the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department to conduct a background search on Bryon Gustafson, who has been tabbed as the next SUSD Police Chief. That contract would pay the sheriff’s office $28.96 an hour for that service.

The meeting is at the district office board room, 701 N. Madison St.
