In early September, Dana Nichols wrote about Esmeralda Mexicano, a 2013 Edison High School graduate who won a Dell Scholarship and was headed to the University of California, Irvine, until she discovered this summer she had cancer.
The diagnosis has had a devastating effect on Esmeralda and her family. Esmeralda will soon be undergoing surgery for her Stage 3 cancer.
Edison High wants to help. Here’s a letter sent out by Edison Principal Brian Biedermann and the school’s outreach consultant, Claudia Moreno. Edison also is selling T-shirts. The school is asking all attending Edison’s Nov. 8 football game against Tokay to purchase a shirt and wear it to the game.
