Dee Alimbini, SUSD’s administrator of child welfare and attendance, shared word today of the recent death of Michael Lewis, a longtime custodian in the school district. His obituary, which you can read here, says he worked for the district for 37 years. The service for Lewis is Thursday.
“He was our custodian when we opened Chavez,” Alimbini said this afternoon. “There was a lot to do and he was right there every second. He never appeared to be stressed out. He always had a ready grin, was always a gentleman, always was ready to do whatever was needed to be done so the school would be ready for students.
“He just never, ever said no … anything that needed to be done, he would be willing to do. He was very quick-witted. He was one of my favorite people.”
