SUSD releases agenda one day early …

… because they must feel like taking a three-day weekend or something. Here’s the agenda.

I’ve broken out a few items of interest:

2013-14 INSTRUCTIONAL CALENDAR
Here it is, assuming this gets approved.

ADULT EDUCATION
Gov. Jerry Brown has proposed shifting responsibility for adult education from K-12 districts to community colleges, an idea that was rejected this week by a subcommittee of the state assembly. Pending board approval, SUSD will push to retain its adult-education services with this resolution.

DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT
The board is being asked to approve the job description for the long-vacant position. A caveat, though: Being able to “bend at the waist” is a critical requirement.

STALLWORTH CHARTER
Its renewal process continues with a public hearing.
