Tabitha Hoak from the facilities department is seeking approval from the board to install solar systems, at no cost to the district, at 18 sites, which were not disclosed. She said the solar systems would be similar to those being installed in Lincoln Unified, and that it would be a learning opportunity for students, as well as cutting SUSD’s energy costs.
This is only on the agenda as an information item, so there was no vote. Hoak said the solar system would have an annual $600,000 benefit to the district.
