Ellen Old, STA: She spoke about Item 9.5, which would call for asking the state for a class-size waiver so the district could increase class sizes if finances dictate. Such changes would have to be negotiated with STA, assuming the state even granted the waiver. The item has been pulled, by the way. Here are Old’s comments.
For those who want to see the info on the since-pulled item, click here. It’s worth noting that the class-size issue may not go away, even though it was pulled tonight. Superintendent Steve Lowder says he wants to get the state waiver just as a precaution.
