Each year, the Cortopassi Family Foundation hands out Excellence in Teaching Awards to outstanding high school science and math teachers in San Joaquin County. This year, for the first time, high school alternative-education teachers also will be recognized.
The deadline for nominations, which must be made by a teacher’s current principal, is Jan. 31. Winning teachers will receive $5,000; so will their schools. All nominees must have at least two years’ teaching experience in math, science or alternative education.
You can download a nomination form and informational packet here. Award recipients will be honored at a ceremony and dinner April 11 at the Stockton Golf and Country Club.
