Gloria Allen and David Varela spoke minimally. Angel Jimenez thanked everyone “for the hard work they do.” He praised SUSD students and said there is “a lot more work to do.” He thanked voters for supporting Measure E and Prop. 30. Of his sketchy reelection hopes, Jimenez said, “I still remain hopeful. We’ll see what happens.”

Sal Ramirez had no comment. Steve Smith thanked voters for supporting Measure E. He also said he is happy with the results of in-house suspension.

Sara Cazares also expressed happiness over the Prop. 30 and Measure E victories. She also toured several schools to observe a contraband dog being tested at several campuses recently. She said the district may soon decide to adopt usage of a dog.
