Program seeking parents to train for civic engagement

Twenty-one months ago I attended a meeting at Charterhouse Center for Families. The non-profit was kicking off its version of the Connecticut-based Parent Leadership Training Initiative.

Now, Charterhouse is looking for a second cohort of parents to train for civic engagement. If you are personally interested, read on. If you know parents who would benefit from this program and are willing and able to make a serious commitment of time and effort, please pass the following information on to them. Principals and teachers — think about the dedicated parents at your school who would benefit from this. Act quickly. Space is limited and the deadline to apply is fast approaching.

Information about the program and the applicationĀ are here. The 20-week class schedule is here. The deadline to apply is Nov. 30.
