SUSD Live — Public, board, superintendent comment

This is tonight’s final post.

STA President Ellen Old urged passage of Prop. 30 and rejection of Props. 32 and 38. She also complimented Van Buren teacher Misty Doyal, who was honored tonight for her calm response to the recent gunfire in her classroom. And Old praised the district for moving swiftly to improve safety at Van Buren following the incident.

As for board comments …

Steve Smith: safety meeting, tomorrow, 4 p.m., boardroom. He also said he is spending his 30th wedding anniversary in style: at tonight’s board meeting.

Angel Jimenez: He praised teacher Misty Doyal’s efforts during the recent Van Buren incident.

Jose Morales: He said the district is in a better place now than it was a few years ago, and he said the data presented earlier by Neuburger and Nicholas is a sign of that. “We’re on the right path.”
