Catherine Kearney is no longer the dean of Teachers College of San Joaquin.
Read the email sent out today by San Joaquin County Office of Education Deputy Superintendent Gary Dei Rossi to former TCSJ students here.
Kearney, 56, had worked for the SJCOE for 17 years. She declined to discuss details of her departure from TCSJ, which opened in 2009.
“I am extremely proud of the work I have done at Teachers College of San Joaquin,” Kearney said this afternoon. “We have changed the face of education in this valley. I hope the work continues. There are excellent teachers doing excellent work. I believe Teachers College of San Joaquin can help further their efforts. I thoroughly enjoyed working for the San Joaquin County Office of Education and I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life.”
Kearney’s immediate attention will focus on her husband, Robert, who is 57. Kearney said her husband has needed a liver transplant for 12 years and that he finally may receive the new liver by year’s end.
