SUSD Live — District hires assistant superintendent of special education

With Kelly Dextraze leaving for Lincoln Unified, SUSD was in need of a new leader for its special-education department. Tonight, SUSD hired that new leader — Thomas Anderson, who had been the special-ed director for Twin Rivers Unified since 2011.

Before Twin Rivers, Anderson worked at River Delta Unified, Weston Ranch High School, Great Valley School, Waterloo School in Linden and St. Anthony’s School in Manteca. He also served as women’s tennis coach at San Joaquin Delta College, and speech and debate coach at St. Mary’s High.

He is married to Cleveland Elementary first-grade teacher Tina Anderson.
