Earlier this summer, SUSD scrapped plans to establish all-male programs at several K-8s and at Chavez High. Had the district not scrapped the plans, the programs would have begun when school started last week.
Legal concerns about single-gender schooling raised by the American Civil Liberties Union were part of the reason SUSD scrubbed its plans. Today the ACLU released a 66-page report on the subject.
