Principal Will Nelson passed on a few notes:
*If you want to put some money in the pockets of Chavez High’s band boosters, buy your July 4 fireworks at their stand at March and West lanes.
*It’s still a month away, but Chavez’s school orientation will be held July 31-Aug. 1. It’s a chance for students to get their class schedules, turn in forms, sign up for extracurricular activities, take their school pictures and receive their ID cards. Parents also can sign up for School Site Council, School Advisory council or English Language Advisory. Free physicals will be available for students who want to participate on school athletic teams in 2012-13. For more information, visit the school’s website.
