Lincoln Unified has called a special board meeting for Tuesday. What’s interesting is it will be a mobile meeting that opens at 9 a.m. at the district office with a bus tour of district facilities. Trustees are going to be sizing up the facilities needs in the district as they prepare to put a bond measure before voters in June.
The board meeting will have an intermission at 1 p.m. at Lincoln High School’s Engineering and Construction Academy. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, a proponent of career and technical education, will be stopping by for lunch.
After lunch, the board will re-board the bus to continue the tour. When the trek finally ends, it will be back to the district office for a closed session, to be followed by an update on educational consulting being provided by WestEd, and a board discussion on the facilities needs.
