SUSD Live — 7:56 p.m.

The closed session lasted 80 minutes. HR chief Steve Vaczovsky is the acting superintendent. The board voted 6-1. McCarthy voted no. The board did not name an interim. They bought time. And they’re continuing negotiations with former Superintendent Tony Amato’s representative concerning his severance. STA’s Anne McCaughey endorsed Vaczovsky’s selection. “This is a good, stabilizing move,” she said.

Andal agrees to settlement in FPPC case

Former Lincoln Unified board member Dean Andal, the Republican who lost to Jerry McNerney in last year’s race for California’s 11th-district seat in the U.S. House, has agreed to a $9,500 fine from California’s Fair Political Practices Commission.
