Pafford confirms he wants transfer

Ty Pafford confirmed a little while ago that he indeed has asked for a transfer. He was starting his fifth year as coordinator of the 11th- and 12th-grade IB program at Franklin. Assuming he gets his transfer, it means the IB program will soon be without its three long-time leaders. Principal Scott Luhn was [...]

You’ve got a question, we’ve got an answer

“2:28 PM – TheAnswer_is — So I have a question. Who is responsible for bringing Superindant Amato to SUSD? Did Morales recruit Amato or someone else on the board of trustees? Do you know because I don’t know and I hope you will report on this to let us know so we have some more [...]

IB student sends e-mail

“Personally I do not understand what is going on at my own school. I am a senior IB diploma candidate attending Franklin High, and I am not happy with how the school has changed. First of all, it makes no sense to let the extended middle years program pass and then “reassign” the administrators [...]

Some e-mails re: SUSD opening day

There wasn’t an abundance of e-mail in response to my offer to publish the e-mails of SUSD employees, parents and students regarding opening day. Here’s the latest petition: CLICK TO ENLARGE      So here’s the recap, once again, of what happens next: [...]

Not that we’re begging or anything, but here’s one final reminder to e-mail your opening-day SUSD stories. We would like to hear from SUSD employees, parents and students on Wednesday. What went well? What didn’t? And if you want to be anonymous, say the word. The e-mail address is rphillips@recordnet.com. I might e-mail you back with a question [...]

Upset IB parent was Castillo’s 2006 opponent

IB parent Scott Takechi is among those expressing disappointment over Monday’s reassignment of coordinator Erin Thiele out of the IB program.      Nearly three years ago, Takechi was the guy who lost to Dan Castillo in the race for SUSD Area 7 trustee. Castillo, of course, is now in his second year as board president. [...]

Reminder: opening-day stories, please

Still hoping that tomorrow, any and all will send their opening-day SUSD stories. But there was one omission in yesterday’s post: Not only would I like to hear from SUSD employees, but also from parents and students. What went well? What didn’t? And if you want to be anonymous, say the word. The e-mail [...]
