Crime Log 8/10/2010

I missed one log last week because I was sick, and another because of late breaking news. It will happen, but know I am trying to keep up.

8/8/2010, 3:25 p.m., Horner and Carroll avenues: Deputies stopped a Toyota Camry that lacked a front license plate, and whose rear plate was registered to a car reported stolen in Manteca. Its vehicle identification number belonged to a car that had been stolen in Waterford. The driver was arrested.

8/8/2010, 4:30 p.m., Wilson Way Detail, 2 S. Wilson Way: Police arrested a 20-year-old Stockton man in connection with the burglary of a Wilson Way store. At about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the owner of Wilson Way Detail, 2 S. Wilson Way, saw someone break into his business and take a $100 pair of shoes, police reported. The owner chased the man down and held him at Wilson Way and Washington Street until police arrived.

8/8/2010, 9 p.m., Cody and Bowie ways: Two men, 19 and 29, were driving north on Cody Way looking for an address at about 9 p.m. Sunday. When they made a U-turn near Bowie Way, three people, all males, jumped into the street in front of them, police said. One of the robbers was wearing a white bandanna over his face and had a handgun in his waistband. They demanded the victims’ property and fled into the neighborhood with stolen cell phones and a wallet.

8/9/2010, 11:15 a.m., Pacific Avenue and Harding Way: A 21-year-old man was stabbed several times in the parking lot of the Stockton Adult School. He was attacked by a group of six males, none described in detail. The man was stabbed several times with some type of cutting weapon, and a 19-year-old man who tried to intervene was beaten, but fled before police arrived. The 21-year-old man was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center with serious injuries. Police said he was not cooperative with investigators.
