Daily Chaos: Ripon Bank Robberies and Stockton Burglaries

Just seven days into 2010, the last of Ripon’s open bank robbery investigations has been closed, the Ripon PD reported today.

Already in jail for one bank robbery, 50-year-old Daniel Frazer was linked through DNA evidence to two other bank robberies, one in September and one in October. Bail has been denied.

And in Stockton early Friday morning, three different homes were broken into within one hour by the same baseball-capped figure.

In two of the break-ins, female residents were ordered by the gun-wielding intruder to lie face down while he ransacked rooms. He stole a handgun from one of the homes, so if he wasn’t carrying a real gun before, he is now.

The Stockton Police Department said late Friday that the trio of burglaries may also be connected to an increase in burglaries it has been tracking since mid-October. Those burglaries have occurred in an area from Mosher Slough in the south to Hammer Lane in the north, and from West Lane to El Dorado Street.

Most have been nighttime burglaries, and many of them have been committed when residents were still at home.

The Stockton Police Department is asking anyone who can help solve the crimes, and anyone who has questions, to call investigators at (209) 937-8323.

More on these and other incidents in the paper tomorrow and at Recordnet.
