Benefit for Timothy Aaron Lacy
I was at Weber Square working on a story about the park when a young man approached and asked if I would help his family get some publicity for a car wash they are holding today for Timothy Aaron Lacy, who died Tuesday of congestive heart failure. He was 22 years old, and had three children.
Lacy was a graduate of Edison High School. He was a good husband and father, his family said.
Emma Smith, who thought of Lacy as a grandson, said, “He never gave nobody no whole bunch of trouble.”
When I left Weber Square, Lacy’s family was preparing to caravan over to Round Table Pizza, at Hammer Lane and Holman Road. The restaurant’s management told them they could hold a car wash in the parking lot. Lacy’s mother, Stephanie Guyton-Willis, 45, said, “They were so nice.”
The car wash will continue until about 6 p.m. The proceeds are to be used to defray the costs of Lacy’s interment.
(I’d hoped to add some photos, but they haven’t been uploaded yet. I will add them later.)
