Pettet: Recall effort to begin
Alan Pettet, the founder of Stockton Armed Militia – the group Pettet said will patrol Stockton with firearms if police are laid off – said before this evening’s City Council meeting that he intends to launch a recall campaign against Mayor Ann Johnston and council veterans, Leslie Baranco Martin and Susan Eggman.

Alan Pettet, who announced Monday he is forming Stockton Armed Militia, said this afternoon that 268 people have called to sign up.
He entertained the Associated Press the other day. National Public Radio and The Rush Limbaugh Show called, he said.
“This thing’s gone national,” he said.
