Stephen Clark dropped by The Record this morning and asked to meet. He’s a Stockton resident and wants to be the next city manager. Read his pitch letter and resume yourself. He’s a real estate appraiser and has a total of four years worth of experience working inside local government.
He’s making his case to anybody who will listen. He started with Vice Mayor Paul Canepa, and he’s planning to meet each council member and the mayor.
“I think I’m an excellent candidate,” he said. “I see waste and it jumps out at me. I just drives me nuts.”
Clark, 61, said he knows he doesn’t have the minimum requirements, but he said his heart is in it. He won’t vote for Measure A and thinks CalPERS need to be brought into the bankruptcy.
“I’m coming from left field,” he said. “I truly am.”
