Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani sent this letter to Matt Cate, secretary of the CDCR, asking them to please, please take Wesley Shermantine out of prison to search for more victims. It’s a blistering letter. She said she was appalled that the victims’ relatives had to launch their own investigations to recover their missing daughters. She cited the video The Record put online of John Vanderheiden thrashing around the hills of Calaveras looking for the remains of his daughter, Cyndi. And Joan Shelley multiple times stepped into the cage with Shermantine to ask him where his daughter’s remains were.
