Bottom line for me?

It’s a good question. A reader asked this in an e-mail. As bankruptcy draws near, how will I feel it?

City Manager Bob Deis said in a recent story that business will continue. The parks will be mowed and life in Stockton will go on. The difference will be, City Hall will tell you, that they’ll finally get a handle on the annual budget shortfalls and be able to focus on public safety and making Stockton a better place to live.

Deis wrote a letter Monday to local vendors who do business with Stockton, saying that they will continue to be paid.

The fear of the unknown in real. At the end of the day, I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it plays out for the community.
