He is not Alan Greenspan

The most interesting Stockton race headed into November is for District 6 – Dale Fritchen v. Michael Tubbs. Reporter Roger Phillips explored the city races in this story. And this 2009 story explains Fritchen’s history with the B-word and his uttering of it in a budget meeting derailing a bond sale (allegedly).

Fritchen’s response at the time: “I am not Alan Greenspan.”

Mayor Ann Johnston had predicted at the outset of this year that she’d capture 50 percent + 1 votes in Tuesday’s primary, and that would be it. That didn’t quite happen, but she’s nonetheless undeterred, now saying that in November she only needs to pick up 10 percent more of the votes to outmaneuver challenger Anthony Silva.
