Occupy Stockton

Occupy Stockton today turned its attention to the home foreclosure auction at the north steps of the downtown Stockton Courthouse. There were about a dozen of them.

They have so far been out on DeCarli Waterfront Square. They say they’ll keep the pressure on the auctions.

All the while, they sang the foreclosure auction song:

Mr(s) Auctioneer

All the people here

Are asking you to hold all the sales right now

We’re going to survive but we don’t know how

The protesters also passed out fliers demanding banks impose an immediate moratorium on all foreclosures and start helping home owners retain their residences.

A member posted on the groups Facebook page that they succeeded:

“MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!! We had a good turn out at the San Joaquin courthouse, and it looks like we were successful in stopping the first foreclosure auction today 🙂 The auctioneer couldn’t be heard through our “singing”, lol! They attempted to wait us out, but we were persistent. One by one the potential buyers, and the auctioneer gave up and left the auction…….”
