Mayor comments on Deis

At the close of last night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Ann Johnston was the only one to comment on Bob Deis’ decision to remain. Here’s what she said:

I’d like first of all to announce that our city manager announced today that he is not going to retire in March, that he’s going to remain with the city of Stockton for his contract period, and hopefully longer.

I’m very please and the council is very pleased that he is going to continue in this very challenging position.

… It’s obviously such fun here in Stockton, he’s really wanting to keep the party going.
We’re very pleased that he’s going to stay and remain with us. We will work very carefully with him to move forward and to meet all the challenges that we have in this city.

So, I personally want to thank y Mr. Deis for agreeing to remain with us and to continue working on the challenges that we face. So thank you.
