Deputy Chief Rodriguez’s settlement

STOCKTON — The city paid a firefighter $30,203 for settling a lawsuit that claimed the former chief didn’t promote him due to racial discrimination.

Ed Rodriguez, who was recently promoted to deputy chief in the Stockton Fire Department, received $5,000 for lost wages, and the remaining $25,302 was for attorneys fees Rodriguez incurred. See recordnet.com for the full story, and go here for background.
