Signing off

So today’s my last day at The Record. On Monday I start a new gig as a communications specialist for the San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento.

The move is bittersweet. During five years at The Record, people from all walks of life have helped me tell myriad stories about this unique area. I’ve been lucky to work alongside remarkably talented and passionate newsroom colleagues. And a whirlwind year covering Stockton City Hall has been challenging and rewarding.

Still, I’m excited about moving on and searching for stories of hard work and success in the classroom.

A couple of Stockton City Hall connections, of course:

• San Juan schools boast some distinguished alumni – City Manager Bob Deis and Police Chief Blair Ulring among them.

• Former Stockton Human Resources Director Dianna Garcia used to work for the district.

Anyway, thanks for reading. It’s really been a fun job.
